Over a decade ago, in September 2007, Simon Sinek bounded down the staircase of my Redmond townhome feeling inspired. He had a cause - the Golden Circle - and he wanted to build a worldwide movement. where people could find their why and live and work with purpose. Before he could become the global motivator he is today, Simon Sinek needed to clarify his own why. And I knew how to help him do it. I have been profiling people for most of my life, finding out what motivates them to do the things they do. Because when I understand why people think, act and communicate in a certain way, it is easier to give them the tools to make good change happen. Simon needed good change. I sat and listened as he talked about being an expat child, always moving, always adapting, about his spontaneity and creativity and need to be unconventional (why he likes mismatched socks!). Simon's why revealed itself in stories - how he became expert at taking anything different or complex and turning it into something simple. How he always found a silver lining. Little did I know that finding Simon's why would ultimately lead to me discovering my purpose, making good change happen. It is what I love to do for entrepreneurs who share my same passion - wanting to change the world and make it a better place.
